SummerFest

SummerFest

2023 Update

SummerFest 2023 was held on August 13 after rescheduling from August 6 due to much needed rain in the area. Nearly 700 people visited the campus and enjoyed more than a dozen inflatables, face-painting, rock-wall climbing, Tubs of Fun, a bike helmet giveaway (courtesy of Safe Kids Linn County), light snacks, bingo (prizes awarded), guest magician Eric Michaels, and live music from New Life’s worship bands. Guests could choose to provide a financial donation to our featured local non-profit, Safe Families for Children.

New Life Community Church’s first SummerFest was in 2021, to help celebrate a one-year recovery from the 2020 derecho. Now, we hope that SummerFest will be an annual day of family-friendly fun!

2022

Update: More than 800 guests attended SummerFest on a partly cloudy afternoon. We were able to provide more than $3,000 of financial support to Chains Interrupted.

SummerFest 2022 is right around the corner! Free fun for the family kicks off at noon on Sunday, August 14. This year will feature all the great Spacewalk inflatables from 2021, plus the addition of a GIGANTIC obstacle course. Also returning is the rock-climbing wall from H and H Fun Rides, plus the addition of a teacup style ride. Area food trucks will be available from noon to 2 pm and again at 5 pm. Area-favorite coverband Full Circle will entertain from 4-7 pm.

While admission to all rides, carnival games, and most snack foods will be free, any voluntary contributions will be 100% donated to Chains Interrupted. As in 2021, the event is fully funded by New Life Community Church for the enjoyment of our neighbors in the Marion metro and beyond. See summerfestnewlife.com for more information!

New Life Community Church is providing the event free of charge to the community, but attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and financially support three local non-profit organizations. Marion Cares provides advocacy, connections, and services for children and families. Families Helping Families helps provide loving foster-care homes for families in need. And Safe Families for Children partners with other area agencies to provide support for families experiencing crisis. All monetary donations collected throughout the day will be given to these great organizations.
